So a lack of Internet has hindered me slightly with being able to update this, but here is a quick run down…
First off a big mention for Nelson, we left this beautiful city on Sunday with one final trip to the fantastic markets on Saturday morning. I managed to eat my body weight in some of the delicious, freshly baked pastries and cakes (couldn’t resist!) and got a few momentos too 🙂
Then it was off down the east coast to Kaikoura! What a place! I have lots of photos and videos stuck on my laptop and I will do a special kaikoura blog when I’m up and running with Internet again, but here is a little preview:
Monday night we rolled into Methven, a cute little gateway town to Mt Hutt and a popular spot for skiers and boarders. Everything is tailored to ski season and it is really quaint and fun! I would definitely recommend Doms for some good food and great atmosphere!
Tuesday our fate was sealed… Looks like we will be knocking around Ashburton area for a while! I spent Thursday job hunting and exploring the town. It’s small but lovely and has plenty of nice shops I’m going to have to try and resist… Having only been here a couple of days, everyone I’ve met has been so friendly and welcoming, I’m looking forward to getting to know the area better 😀
